MLK's sermon "Loving Your Enemies" (and "Only Love Can Do That" by Mark Miller)

Ideas from MLK as sermon inspiration and an anthem from Mark Miller--shared as one way of connecting Black History Month, the theme of love, and our work to resist harm.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr preached and taught frequently on themes of love, describing it's power to defeat evil. His collection of sermons, Strength to Love, includes "Loving Your Enemies," which is also available online.

Whether by using some of his words or letting his ideas help shape your own, you might find wisdom worth sharing.

Mark Miller's anthem "Only Love Can Do That" sets a treasured MLK quote to music. (The music is currently available as a free download!) Consistent with ideas from these sermons on love, the words are taken from his 1967 book Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?
